"Spiral of Belief" is a striking piece, meticulously crafted in pen and ink. This 20x30 inch, framed drawing captivates with its surreal depiction of the destruction of Religion. Originally done in Oils by the famed Salvador Dali, I saw it in a different way as he did. Dali had lost faith in the Catholic church, I saw a complete destruction of Religion, so I redefined his masterpiece from oil to pen and ink to express my internal expressions of the subject at a pivotal time in my life.
A head formed from layers of swirling, fragmented elements you see the picture represented by the famed Renaissance artist Rafael, who at the time was subject to the religious higher ups to only paint the Madonna, Christ or any other religious person. The intricate design combines patterns and geometric shapes to create a deep sense of complexity and motion, picturing, the destruction of organized religion.
Black and white tones contrast sharply, enhancing the artwork's dramatic, dreamlike essence. The head appears to be unraveling or emerging from chaos, inviting contemplation on the boundaries of form and structure. This piece stands out for its unique ability to evoke the viewer's imagination, blending themes of religious fragmentation and unity in a single beautiful compelling image.
